Garage Mounting Wall Instructions

Polarized Instructions for Model GH-120-E, GH-120-R, GH-120-G, GH-120-W

  • For maximum coverage, choose a wall that is centrally located and has an electrical outlet close by.
  • Remove paper template from back page of user manual and tape it to the wall or surface chosen in step 1. GarageVac must be installed a minimum of 6 inches from the floor. Mark the center of keyholes very accurately with a awl or similar object.

  • Carefully remove template from the wall and place it with manual for future reference.

  • Attach four of the #8 screws to the wall as marked on template leaving screw heads 1/8” from the surface of the wall.
  • To insure the screws are in proper place, install GarageVac without the tool caddy attached by aligning the keyholes on the back of the unit to the screw heads on the wall and push down on the GarageVac to secure it in place. If the vacuum cleaner is loose you will need to tighten screws further.
  • Remove GarageVac from the wall and attach the tool caddy by sliding the “dove tails” on the bottom of the caddy into the grooves on the top of the unit. You will hear a click when the pin on the top on the unit clicks into corresponding hole on the tool caddy. Install the GarageVac with the tool caddy as described in step 4.
  • Secure the tool caddy to the wall by inserting one #8 screw through the caddy into the wall.
  • Check to be sure the dust bag and motor filter (located under the dust bag) are in place. The motor filter should be laying flat in all four corners.

Surface mounting to Drywall (1/2 thick)

  • For maximum coverage, choose a wall that is centrally located and has an electrical outlet close by.
  • Remove paper template from back page of your instruction manual and tape to wall or surface from step 1. GarageVac must be installed a minimum of 6 inches from the floor. Align the template so that 2 vertical center points are aligned with center of 2 x 4 stud behind the drywall for additional stability.
  • With an awl, or similar pointed object, mark the center of the keyholes accurately. Carefully remove the template and place with manual for future reference.
  • Using a 3/32 drill bit, pre-drill all 4 holes.
  • Use a 5/16 drill bit to enlarge only the 2 holes which go through the drywall without stud support. These are the holes that require drywall anchors.
  • Squeeze the two arms of plastic anchor together and insert through hole. Very lightly hammer the anchor flush with the drywall surface.
  • Insert the red key-pin and push firmly to toggle the anchor open behind the drywall. Remove red pin.
  • Attach all four #8 screws through the marked keyholes. Keep the screw heads 1/8” from wall surface. Follow steps 4 through 7 to complete mounting.

" The garage vacum is an awesome piece of equipment. I have one installed, conviently on the wall of the garage, leaving valuable floor space. The vacuum itself is excellent, I live in a four car household and it saves time, nad money. It works as advertised, the hose is plenty long, the attachments all serve your needs well.
I highly recommend this unit."
